Landfill UpdateSince the ReStore's opening in November, 2004 we have successfully diverted 3,258,562 pounds of product that may have otherwise been thrown into the Anchorage landfill.

Interested in Volunteering?
Due to the growth of the ReStore, there is a need for additional volunteers to assist customers, price and stock merchandise, schedule pickups by phone and perform related tasks. For more detailed volunteer assignment information, Click here. ReStore volunteers will meet new people, help reduce substandard housing in Anchorage, and promote reuse and recycling efforts. The Habitat ReStore is a retail business which sells donated new and used building materials, electrical fixtures, appliances, kitchen cabinets, and even doghouses - at greatly reduced prices.
We accept new and used building materials in 100% working condition from remodeling jobs, business closeouts, contractors and builders.
The income generated from a ReStore is used to build more homes for low-income families and to support Habitat's mission of building homes for families in order to eliminate substandard housing in Anchorage.
ReStores also benefit the community by keeping reusable items out of the landfill and providing a source for discounted materials for "do-it-yourself" home improvement projects.
